Early Development Programme
Baby College® classes are designed for parents and children from birth to three years of age.
Developed in the UK, classes take parent and child through a range of activities that enhance every aspect of a child's development. These include cognitive and motor games that support:
✓attention and learning
✓ balance and movement
✓ language acquisition
✓ multi-sensory integration
✓ body awareness and concepts of self
✓ secure attachments
✓ emotional understanding
✓ social skills
Parents will gain insight into different areas of early development as they participate in linguistic play, music, and other activities with their child.
The programme is sculpted to grow with your baby. Classes are offered in three different age groups as the pace builds and the activities accompany their expanding experience of the world.
Advancing concepts & rhythms
Theme games & musical fun
Baby College was founded by neurodevelopmental practitioner Alison Lawson, an associate of the Institute of Neuro-Physiological Psychology (INPP), UK. Initially impassioned by the challenges in helping her sons cope with dyspraxia and dyslexia, she trained with Sally Goddard Blythe at the INPP to understand and address neurological developmental delays that lead to learning difficulties. Alison first launched classes for babies in 1985 to encourage specific movements for neuromotor development.
Subsequently, working together with experts and parents, the Baby College® programme was formally established in 2000 and has been growing successfully since. Baby College presently extends to 12 different territories within the United Kingdom, as well as internationally, taking root in South Africa and Singapore.
